Our team...
We’re a small but committed team that works hard all year round to make Network Christian holidays the best they can possibly be. With 25 years of experience, we’re confident that we offer our guests both a great experience and great value for money.
We understand that booking your first holiday alone can be daunting. So we’ve endeavoured to answer some of your questions here.
We’re a friendly team so do e-mail or call us with any other questions you have
.
What sort of people come to your holidays and events?
Our guests come from many corners of the UK, all walks of life and many different churches of different denominations. You will meet and chat with many interesting and happy people. We’re delighted to welcome back couples who have met through our holidays & events too.
What age group do you have?
Our holidays are particularly popular with those in their 30s, through to their late 60s. However, whatever your age - whether younger or older we’ll be glad to meet you. Most of our events are open to all adults regardless of age. We’re told that this makes for a more relaxed time and interesting conversations. However, we do understand that those in the younger age bracket often want an opportunity to meet one another so we have specific activities and events for this group.
Do people come on their own?
Yes, most people do arrive on their own. However, after a warm welcome from their hosts and other guests they quickly relax and are ready to enjoy our many activities with other guests. When friends are travelling together it presents them with an ideal opportunity to room share too. Of course, having met people on our break it is more easier for you to arrange taxi shares etc. with people taking your route home.
What kind of venues do you use?
We know our customers want comfort, good food and convenience so we put a lot of research into finding the best venues for our range of city breaks, weekends and holidays. Many of our venues are well run Christian hotels found in beautiful parts of the country. We also use hotel chains like the Holiday Inn and Marriot as well as privately run hotels where they offer quality, good value and a wider range of facilities.
We take into account the atmosphere of the venue, its location to public transport and parking available, the quality of its food, its general comfort, the availability of single rooms as well as its proximity to local attractions and areas of beauty. Where we come across a venue that offers our customers something special such as being of particular historical significance, or set in a superb surroundings we may have to compromise on things such as proximity to public transport or the number of en-suite rooms. Our event descriptions will highlight any particularly interesting venues or special arrangements.
Do you arrange room sharing?
Yes we do. If you wish to make use of the cheaper shared rooms we are happy to arrange a room share for you. Where possible this will be with someone of a similar age to yourself. Of course, as you meet and make new friends you may well find a room share of your own for future breaks and holidays. If we are unable to find someone suitable for you to share with we may need to charge you the slightly higher single room rate.
What happens on an event or holiday?
Our hosts are always on hand and fully involved with our excursions, walks and activities. You’ll have a great range of activities to choose from but without any pressure to join in. Feel free to dip in and out as you please.
What happens at meal times?
You need never eat alone. All our holidays include dinner as well as breakfast. To get each day off to a great start we suggest a time that people can meet together for breakfast. Dinner is a great time for socialising when we can share sightseeing stories around the table.
What does a host do?
Your host makes sure everything goes smoothly, from greeting you at the start of the event, to introducing you to other guests, sharing their local knowledge, leading walks, arranging entertainment and showing you the highlights and undiscovered gems in your area.
Hosts are key to the success of our holidays and events. Network Christians is keen to expand its range of events and a new team of friendly hosts will enable us to do just that. So if you believe that you are a good organiser, have skills to offer to offer a group and can communicate comfortably with people who come from a wide range of church backgrounds we would love to hear from you.
Will I find the man / woman of my dreams?
We realise that some single people are keen to open up opportunities to meet potential partners and we have been delighted to see many couples marrying over the years. However, we are not a dating agency – just a friendly holiday and events company. Whilst we endeavour to have a good mix of male and female guests the reality is that more women than men are attracted to social events.
How about getting around?
To enable our activities and excursions to run smoothly we are dependant most days on drivers volunteering to take passengers. If all drivers do this there can usually be a rotation and then everyone has the opportunity to relax and be a passenger from time to time. We also ask that passengers share the parking and petrol costs and that drivers accept these contributions.
What kind of walks do you do?
Each event is different. Where you see a boot print next to an event this means that there will be the option to do one or more 2+ hour walks. Our Lakes, St Ives, Jersey and IOW breaks have a range easy and moderate walks as well as Sightseeing options.
Events without the walking boot print symbol usually involve some easy walking so all our guests need to have good mobility. However, If you have a disability or any concern please contact the office whose friendly staff will be happy to discuss your needs and the event or holiday concerned.
How is Network Christians different from other secular holiday companies?
Well, we hope that our Christian ethos runs through everything we do. Our relationship with our customers is very important to us and we trust your experience with us will demonstrate this. We ensure that our terms and conditions are clear and consistently applied. We work hard to provide the best environment for our guests where they can relax and share fellowship. We are delighted to attract Christian people from many different church backgrounds. Our services and Thoughts for the Day are both simple and thought provoking. We seek to offer acceptance, encouragement and affirmation to all our guests. Ultimately, we want to treat our customers as Christian friends.
Is Network Christians involved in anything else?
Yes. We are keen to serve the wider church and have recently become involved in providing training materials and seminars to churches, bible colleges and Christian
organisations on the subject of the Churches relationship with single people. Since 2010 we have been involved in providing seminars for Church leaders and single people at both Spring Harvest venues. Additionally, we have conducted training seminars for students of Moorlands Bible College and are hoping to extend this to other colleges. If you would like to find out more about this or would like to make a donation to this work please contact us.

Please see each individual event or holiday description for full details. Some things not covered...your bar bill, admission to any attractions and of course your transport to our venue.
